Looking ahead to re-opening Bron Rhiw – July 13th, 2020

The last weeks have been a challenging time for everyone. We hope you have remained safe and well during this time and the weeks ahead allow us to enjoy doing more.

As we look forward, we are starting to think about reopening Bron Rhiw to guests on July 13th. This is of course dependent on government restrictions. We will always follow this advice as the safety and well-being of our guests, us, and the local community are at the forefront of all decisions we make.

Making a booking
We understand that you may be considering making a booking for a few days away. It will be lovely to welcome guests back to Bron Rhiw.

For bookings, taken over the phone or via our online booking system you will be asked for your credit card details to secure the booking. No money will be taken prior to your arrival. If, for any reason, you need to alter your booking, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do all we can to assist.

At this stage, for all future bookings we are operating on a minimum of a two-night stay. This is something we usually operate at weekends & through the summer months. However, this is another way we are able to be open, but further reduce the number of different people at Bron Rhiw. Based on our bookings during 2019 this will mean that we will reduce the number of people staying with us. We appreciate that this may not be suitable for some guests, but this measure is another helpful alteration to allow us to do all we can for the well-being of everyone at Bron Rhiw. As with all the measures we are taking we will keep this under review.

Staying at Bron Rhiw

We are carefully monitoring all guidance from the government and Public Health to ensure we take all possible steps to maintain a safe environment for everyone. Since we opened in 2018, we have received numerous reviews that complement the standard of cleanliness at Bron Rhiw. We will continue to operate at this excellent standard.

In addition, we will take all guests temperature on arrival using a non contact thermometer. Anyone with a raised temperature or showing obvious symptoms of COVID19, will be refused their stay. Please do not be offended by this and remember it is for the safety of all.

The emphasis on hand washing and reduced touching of shared items really does make a difference and are part of our usual routines.

The advice regarding laundry is to use high temperatures and detergents. All of our laundry at Bron Rhiw is carried out by us on site here at Bron Rhiw. All laundry is washed at a high temperature, sanitized, dried and ironed in a steam press. Again making sure we are following government guidelines. The laundry is stored in our linen cupboard until needed.

In addition to the cleaning that always happens, we are disinfecting the surfaces that different guests may touch, such as door handles and bannisters, several times throughout the day. To assist us with this, it will help if guests wash or sanitise their hands when entering Bron Rhiw and before leaving their room.

Breakfast at Bron Rhiw
Until we receive further government guidance, breakfast will have to be served in the rooms. With this in mind, our menu may be amended to suit the situation. For this short time the choices may be limited, but still of the high standard we have always given.
Once guidance allows breakfast will return to the dining room.

The dining room at Bron Rhiw is large and the tables are spaced well apart. We will ensure we operate to the spacing requirements. It is unusual for all guests to be in the dining room at the same time, but we appreciate that we need to manage this carefully.

To achieve this, we may ask guests to select their breakfast choice the night before and choose a breakfast time to help with this. If necessary, we will extend breakfast times. We will also allocate guests a table to use for the duration of their stay.

As usual, all drinks and food from the breakfast menu are served to your table so contact is minimised. We do have a buffet table with cereals, fruit and yoghurts. We will ensure these items are served in individual portions to ensure they are only touched by one guest.

The local area
Over time it will become clearer how local attractions, restaurants and shops are responding. As the actions taken by each venue are likely to differ, we advise guests to look at the individual websites as these are likely to contain the latest information.

A great advantage of Criccieth and the surrounding local areas of Snowdonia and North Wales are the open spaces and stunning scenery. There are many places to choose from and it is usually possible to find quieter open spaces at all time of the year. There are some areas that tend to be busy, but you can find lots of information on local walks and spaces across the area that are less busy.

As well as staying safe we want our guests to continue to have a pleasurable stay at Bron Rhiw. These measures have been implemented for added caution, but we are confident our guests will continue to enjoy their stay and see very few visible changes. Our guests are with us to have time away and relax. This seems more important now than ever. We are explaining these actions, so you know what we have and continue to do to maintain a safe space but in a way that is not overly obvious. We look forward to seeing you at Bron Rhiw.
